Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about how the calculator works and how to read the results.

Is this really free?+

Yes, completely free. We don't ask for your bank details, account numbers, or any sensitive financial information - just a few questions about your habits.

Will this affect my credit score?+

No. This is a self-assessment tool. We don't connect to any bank or credit bureau.

What happens to my data?+

Your data is safe and will never be sold or shared with third parties. We run aggregated analytics to understand how people are managing their money - helping us improve the tool and create more useful content.

How is my score calculated?+

We score you across 5 dimensions: budgeting, savings, managing debt, credit cards, and money transfers. Your overall score is the average of these five.

What do the score bands mean?+

Up to 40 means there's significant room to improve. Between 41 and 70, you're doing reasonably well but have clear areas to work on. Above 70 is strong - the personalised recommendations will help you go further.

Can I retake the check?+

Yes - just reload the page. There's no account or history tied to you. We'd suggest retaking it every few months to see how things are moving.
